AND…
More likely, your doctor is prescribing more and more medications to stabilize your blood sugars, but you know deep down there is a better solution. You don’t want to accept that this is going to be your life. You need to change your habits, and you need a plan that you can sustain.
If this sounds all too familiar, you might be experiencing insulin resistance.
When you’re experiencing insulin resistance or impaired insulin sensitivity, your body doesn’t respond to insulin as it should to regulate blood sugar. It mostly occurs due to excess weight, inflammation, and too much sugar and carbohydrates. People with Pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and Type 1 diabetes can experience insulin resistance.
I’m Alli and I’ve spent years practicing a low carb lifestyle with moderate to high amounts of protein while strength training and running distance. I’ve spent the last few years helping diabetics quit sugar to regain confidence while optimizing their health.

I’m no stranger to diabetes.
In my early 30’s I was shockingly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes/LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults). For months I had been feeling fatigued, low energy levels, and increased hunger and thirst. I blew off my symptoms for months– I thought there was no way I was diabetic! When I finally ran out of steam (i.e., I had lost most of my beta-cell function and was barely producing insulin) I made an appointment with an endocrinologist. I started feeling better with insulin therapy.
Taking my nutrition into my own hands, I revamped my recipes and quit sugar. I was able to lower my A1C by 55% in 6 months.
I felt better, and regained my energy levels. With the help of low doses of insulin and sugar-free living, I was back to running 30 miles per week and living life to the fullest again. My doctors were in awe. I set out to help other diabetics as my mission, changing my career path and going back to school for lifestyle medicine, health, and nutrition.
My unique approach includes three general areas that I personalize for each of my clients:
Regain energy: This is where we will handle the low energy levels that you’ve been dealing with and work quickly to move toward helping you feel more energized. Cranky and tired? Sleepless nights due to roller coaster blood sugars? We will deal with it. Overwhelmed and anxious at the thought of reading labels at the grocery store? I’ll guide you through it. You’ll start feeling more energized, have better moods, and your sugars will calm down.
Glucose control: We’ll make sure you’re fueled with sugar-free and nutrient-dense foods so that your blood glucose levels will be more stable. You’ll experience fewer cravings and the extra weight will start to fall off making you feel more confident.
Weight loss: This is where we tie it all together so you continue the work on your own. You’ll manage your blood sugars with more ease. You’ll be empowered to put your health and body as the priority so that you can maintain or continue your weight loss. You’ll have new habits and tools that will enable you to live life to the fullest.

So if you’re feeling exhausted and frustrated with your diabetes, I invite you to take the next step:
